Just a link

Ok, so we have been extremely bad at blogging. We've been busy...most recently though we have moved to Texas. We will have to update everyone later about our move and all but here is a link to some snapfish pictures of the house we are having built, Emree's first birthday and some other pictures from TX. Hopefully we can post some more here soon.

Mt. Redoubt Continues to Erupt

Mt. Redoubt (~50 miles east of Kenai) has been erupting all week, but today as we were driving home we got the opportunity to see an eruption. However the girls were tired and we didn't have the camera so we went home without a picture. Two hours later Redoubt decided it had some more steam to blow off and erupted again. Rachel noticed it out our kitchen window and I had to take a few pictures. Check out Mt. Redoubts current activity and other pictures here.

View from our driveway looking toward Redoubt at 3:43pm (3:29pm eruption)

On Bridge Access Rd toward Kenai at approx 3:49pm

Ash cloud quickly moving northeast to North Kenai and Anchorage

21 minutes after our first picture taken and 35 minutes since the eruption the ash cloud has traveled over 50 miles across the Cook Inlet and over 48115 Grant Ave (our house).

No ash has fallen in our area as of yet!!

Since we haven't blogged in a while here is what Addisyn and Emree are looking like now.

Addisyn at 27 months

Emree at 6 months

Things we could have blogged about

I realize it has been awhile since we last blogged so here is my attempt to quickly catch you up on all the things that have gone on in the past 3 months. Here are just a few of the things we could have blogged about...

Halloween has come and gone. I got to dress the girls up twice with different costumes. The day before halloween I took Addisyn trick-or-treating at an office building and she dressed up as Cinderalla and Emree was a ladybug. Halloween night we went to Anchorage and had a wonderful evening, Addisyn was a dalmation and Emree was a cow. More pictures here.

Our vacation to Arizona was another highlight. We spent a week in November in Glendale and had a blast with family. We went to the zoo and did other various activities in the wonderful warm weather and ended the trip with my cousin's wedding. The next week (the week of thanksgiving) we spent in Anchorage with Jason's parents and I had fun shopping with my mother-in-law while Jason had fun at the shootout with his dad. More pictures.

The next big event was Addisyn's birthday party. We celebrated her 2nd birthday at River City Cheer. We had a blast! You have to check out the other pictures because they speak for themselves. Click here for more pictures.

Next came Christmas. Jason and I had so much fun with the girls on Christmas morning. Again I could go on but really the pictures do all the talking. (remember, these are things we could have blogged about so I'm not really elaborating...We'll try to get better) Pictures.
And then came the cold cold weather. We had -20 to -30 degree weather for over two weeks straight. It was horrible but we survived. I think the only thing good about that temp. is that it is beautiful outside (too bad you can't go out and enjoy it)

New Year's has come and gone, Addisyn is talking up a storm (oh yeah and I cut her hair, that would have been a good blog) Emree is almost 4 months old, and time is just wizzing by. Oh and another thing I forgot, Jason is coaching Girls Varsity Basketball at a small Christian school. He's having a great time with it and he has produced a pretty good little team. They are very young but play really hard for him. Life is exciting and busy as usual. Hopefully that caught you up on everything and we really will try to keep up on this blogging thing to keep everyone updated in our lives. For the most recent pictures click here.

The past two and a half crazy weeks

Since the birth of our second daughter, Emree, life has been pretty crazy. Things are actually going really well. But with the addition of another child, we have definitely been going through some major adjustments. The biggest adjustment comes for Addisyn. She is learning to share Mommy and Daddy and is quickly having to become a "big girl." And I am happy to say that she has actually done really well, but of course she still has her moments (it also doesn't help that she has been sick ever since we brought Emree home).
Emree has been great. She seems to be adjusting well to life.
I am having fun with another baby and it's has been fun and exhausting learning how to manage two little ones. Jason's parents were here in the beginning to help with Addisyn while we were in the hospital and my mom was here for 10 days to help me with the transition at home. I don't know how we would have gotten through that first week without their help.

Jason seems to be doing well. He helps out at night and has been great with giving Addisyn the extra love and attention she needs right now. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father for my children.

So our life has been pretty busy but I expect things to slow down here soon (or maybe that is wishfull thinking-any advise from other parents with more than one kid?) We are loving every minute of it and couldn't be happier.

A few milestones

For some time now Addisyn has been working on defying gravity. She came up with her own way of jumping but this weekend she finally did a "proper" jump, getting both feet off the ground at the same time. She's jumping off of books, over lines, on toys, off stools, and on beds. We may need to get her some help because she has become a jumpaholic.

Not only has Addisyn mastered jumping she has begun to do hand motions to many songs. She'll watch a sing-a-long video and copy the motions that she sees. Doesn't sound like that big of a deal considering she has been doing "the wheels on the bus" for at least 4 months, but just this weekend she has learned motions to at least 10 songs. That's pretty good.
(So we tried uploading a very cute video of Addisyn doing hand motions and jumping but could not get it to work. We'll continue to try an post if later if we can)

Oh yeah, and the most challenging milestone she has reached: Addisyn can fly.
